Excited by the Omni-Man Fatality in Mortal Kombat 1? Check out our review for Invincible Season 2.

Look, we all come to Mortal Kombat games for the Fatality. Loud and filled with bloody spectacular, upping the bar on the finale mechanic is something that Warner Bros. Games took seriously with Mortal Kombat 1 but we apparently hadn’t seen anything yet in the base game. Now, we’ve got a new gameplay trailer spotlighting Mortal Kombat 1 DLC guest fighter Omni-Man, inspired by the Invincible comic book and Prime Video adult animated series and his oh-so-spectacular Fatality.

Warner Bros. Game’s new video shows off Omni-Man’s signature look, along with his formidable moveset that incorporates the character’s superhuman strength, speed, and aerial abilities. But if for some reason you didn’t partake in the critically acclaimed adult animation from Amazon Studios, Omni-Man, also known as Nolan Grayson, hails from the alien world of Viltrum and has long fought to protect his adopted home of Earth as one of the planet’s most powerful champions. He even raised his son, the hero known as Invincible (Mark Grayson), to follow in his footsteps and carry on his legacy. But the Viltrumite warrior’s true mission was never benevolence – it was conquest. And the Viltrum Empire, hungry for expansion, has no intention of stopping at Earthrealm.

At the end of Invincible Season 1, Omni-Man fights his son. And I mean, he demolishes whole city blocks and one whole subway car just to teach Mark, the titular hero Invincible, what being a Viltrumite means. So when you make a Fatality for this horrible horrible man, what do you do? Apparently, you make a Fatality for Omni-Man that is pulled directly from the Season 1 finale of the series. Shocking in the same way that it was when we saw it happen in the show, the Omni-Man Fatality is Mortal Kombat at its best and adds a whole new level to crossover for the franchise.

Omni-Man in Mortal Kombat 1 is voiced by actor J. K. Simmons, who also voices the character in the Invincible animated series. Season 2 of Invincible premieres Nov. 3 on Prime Video.

The new trailer also provides a fresh glimpse at Tremor, a DLC Kameo Fighter who can assist during matches with a range of support moves. Tremor will be available as part of the Kombat Pack and for standalone purchase on November 20, 2023.

Omni-Man and his bloody Fatality will join the Mortal Kombat 1 roster on November 9, 2023 as part of the early access period for Kombat Pack owners, followed by wide availability on November 16, 2023.
