The adventure of the Suicide Squad continues in Suicide Squad ISEKAI Episode 9. The clock is ticking for Harley Quinn and the gang and the drama is about to get turned up a notch. Will they be able to wriggle their way out of this, or will the villains-turned-heroes finally meet their match?

Suicide Squad ISEKAI Episode 9 starts with a bang, picking up right after the big reveal that Princess Fione’s mom, the queen, is really an evil imposter. The minister, acting on the false queen’s orders, attempts to kill Cecil, and Cecil and Fione are now firmly on their own against a powerful enemy. There is no time wasted as the action starts almost immediately.

The one thing Suicide Squad ISEKAI has been lacking so far is an overarching bad guy. Sure, you can point to Amanda Waller and the bombs in the necks of the Suicide Squad members being the main antagonists, but every isekai world has to have some magical evil villain. The reveal that the Queen is really the Undead King finally gives viewers an evil villain within the isekai world and presents the magical, fantasy villain that was sorely missing.

While the Suicide Squad has plenty of experience dealing with enemies from their world, this is a whole new challenge for them. The Undead King unleashes a wave of death and destruction, unlike anything we have seen in the series so far. The previous villains all felt beatable, but here we get one that will take a lot of skill and some serious luck to beat.

Suicide Squad ISEKAI Episode 9

One factor that helps is the assistance of Fione and Cecil. Fione has been one of the most underutilized characters but finally gets a chance to shine in Suicide Squad ISEKAI Episode 9. There is a moment early on when she releases her pent-up anger and frustration and takes on a similar appearance to Harley Quinn. It is so great to finally see her story come to the forefront. She is incredibly powerful, as is Cecil, and her emergence helps raise the stakes in the story.

Suicide Squad ISEKAI Episode 9 ramps up the tension by adding a ton of action too. There is a really neat battle between Killer Croc and King Shark amidst water flowing from the castle that sets off a chain of fascinating events. It’s the start of the Suicide Squad’s entrance into the battle, with a smooth reveal at the midway point in the episode.

Now that the Suicide Squad is on the battlefield, the action jumps up another notch. The Undead King summons a skeleton army alongside her Earth-based villain allies like Enchantress and the Suicide Squad has to come up with a plan. There is the usual bickering and backhanded jokes that help ease the tension, but it is still easy to tell that the team is a little stressed heading into things. This is not going to be the easiest battle for them, but it is a chance to flex their might.

Suicide Squad ISEKAI Episode 9

The fighting is one of the best moments of the series so far and really showcases what Wit Studio is capable of. Every member of the Suicide Squad gets their time to shine. We get to see plenty of their skills and abilities as well as how their personality shines through when the heat is on. Unlike previous battles, this one has some pretty high stakes attached too.

There is still plenty of humor interspersed throughout the more serious action moments but it works really well. This is how these characters act under pressure. Instead of feeling like the normal self-centered bickering we’ve seen so far, however, now it feels like they are really feeling the pressure and want to succeed as a group. It sets the stage well for the battle to wrap up in the final episode.

It took nine episodes, but now there has been some real progression that builds legitimate hype leading into the finale. There is nothing formulaic about Suicide Squad ISEKAI Episode 9. It brings pieces together that have been disjointed so far and shows the potential the series has always had.

Suicide Squad ISEKAI Episode 9 does a great job of setting up an epic finale without losing the charm of the Suicide Squad. The final battle is going to be intense, but there is hope that the Suicide Squad can find a way through.

Suicide Squad ISEKAI Episode 9 is streaming now on Max and Hulu.

Suicide Squad ISEKAI Episode 9 does a great job of setting up an epic finale without losing the charm of the Suicide Squad. The final battle is going to be intense, but there is hope that the Suicide Squad can find a way through.
