With the arrival of Arcane Season 2 Act 3 comes an official acknowledgment that, for now, things have been wrapped up. For fans who need something more to help them say goodbye, Netflix and Riot Games have dropped the Making of Arcane Featurette, where cast and creators share an in-depth look at what it took to bring this incredible saga to life and bid farewell to these beloved characters.

Throughout this lengthy featurette, fans will see the animation process from computer to screen and how heavily the cast was involved in the creative process this time. The bulk of the Arcane Season 2 cast dives into how much their characters have changed since the beginning of the series and what their characters are faced with in the new season.

The complexity of the relationships within Arcane Season 2 is a central focal point of the featurette and the multiple themes. However, the biggest undertaking for the cast and crew of Arcane going into this latest season was how to elevate the series beyond what they had laid down in the previous season. A major part of that was developing the music, highlighted in the Making of Arcane featurette.

As a send-off to a fantastic ending to a captivating series, this featurette is a beautiful send-off to something that has been nothing but a love letter to fans of Arcane. While it also provides us with a behind-the-scenes look, it is evident that the cast and crew poured their blood, sweat, and emotions into crafting this series that we know and love. It is heartbreaking to say goodbye, but knowing that the cast and crew dedicated so much helps ease the pain and look forward to the future.

Arcane Proves Its Success Again!

With its three-part release in November, Netflix and Riot Games have made Arcane Season 2 the streaming event of Fall, and the ratings have proven this in spades. Arcane Season 2 reached the global top 10 English TV in 91 countries following the release of its first Act on November 9 and has remained in the top ten every week since. Across both seasons, Arcane has spent a total of 9 weeks thus far in the global Top 10 English TV List.

There’s no denying that Arcane has likely solidified itself as a big-time contender once award nominations kick into high gear. The Game Awards 2024 nominations got the ball rolling, with the second season already nominated for Best Adaptation. Without a doubt, more nominations will follow and the series will take home the gold once again. They had already set a high bar after the first season annihilated award shows last time.

Globally praised as one of the Best TV Shows of 2021, the adult animated series earned four Emmies, won in nine categories of the 2022 Annie Awards, and won Best Adaptation at the 2022 Game Awards. The show’s album was nominated, though it did not win Top Soundtrack at the 2022 Billboard Music Awards. With buzz for Arcane Season 2 sky-high, it’s looking good for the sophomore outing from Netflix and Riot Games.

Arcane Season 2 is streaming now on Netflix.
