Players itching to get some new content for their copy of Planet Coaster 2 this holiday season, don’t worry! Starting today, Planet Coaster 2 players can update their game to benefit from a host of additions and enhancements as part of the game’s first major update since launching in November.

These include highly requested changes such as separate loading and unloading stations, UI and control adjustments, the ability to customize tracked and transport rides, a new heatmap for guest tolerances, glass scenery pieces, enhanced guest movements on flumes, and much more.

All players will also now be able to add more spark to their parks by putting on mesmerizing firework displays using the event sequencer tool, adding even more magic for their guests.

Now, let’s dig into what’s changing in Planet Coaster 2.

A taste of the changes coming to Planet Coaster 2

There are a whole slew of changes coming to Player Coaster 2, making many players happy in the long run. If you’ve had issues with game mechanics or wanted more wiggle room for experimentation and letting your designs fly, these changes assist in amplifying the game experience beyond expectations. Here is just a taste of the many changes players can experience moving forward.

Flumes

  • Extra Movement
    • More dynamic movement has been added to both guests and rafts/mats when traveling down a flume, including increased spin and swing motions and adding ‘bounce’ to guest rafts and mats
  • Flume Testing
    • Flumes and slides still need to be tested before being opened (to generate the Excitement, Fear, and Nausea data ) but can also now be opened regardless of where the test dummy ends up (previously, flumes and slides needed to end in a pool to be opened)
    • Flumes/slides will now never close, even if the guests end on terrain/paving
    • Guests don’t react negatively to flumes that end on terrain/paving and may choose to ride it again
    • Note: flumes can still be flagged as exceeding g-force limit, and whilst they can still be opened, guests may not choose to use them
  • And more, which can be found here.

Pools

  • Increased the height of waves emitted by Wave Machines.
  • Increased the maximum length of the Pool Draw Tool.

Rides

  • Scenery can now be added to Tracked and Transport Rides.

Maintenance

  • Rebalanced the Maintenance management system.

And there’s just so much more. You can go check out the Planet Coaster 2 site here to see all the changes coming to the game.

A brand new DLC, new rides, and more

Alongside the free update, players looking to add even more attractions to their parks can spin, whirl, and wow crowds with the Planet Coaster 2: Thrill-Seekers Ride Pack DLC. They’ll be able to create and customize a swirling sensation with five high-adrenaline new attractions that are sure to provide the ride of a lifetime.

For those brave enough, the loops and rotating cars of Big M’s Rides – Ultra Spin are sure to impress as they transform the world into a spinning blur. The Vector – LIM Launch Family Coaster also provides a streamlined whirlwind adventure for all ages.

In addition to two new coasters, three thrilling flat rides are on hand to amaze. Guests can ride the wave with the 540 as they engage in a dizzying dance while standing on a shared surfboard or swirl round and round on the endless spins and rotating arms of Strike. Whirlpool, a customizable rebuild of the original Planet Coaster’s Psychola, also arrives to sweep guests into its wild vortex.

Needless to say, there’s so much to digest from what Frontier Developments is bringing to fans of Planet Coaster 2 everywhere. Planet Coaster 2: Thrill-Seekers Ride Pack is available now on PC via Steam, PlayStation®5, and Xbox Series X|S for a suggested retail price of £7.99/$9.99/€9.99. Planet Coaster 2 is required to play and is available now on PC, PlayStation®5, and Xbox Series X|S for a suggested retail price of £39.99/$49.99/€49.99.
