With the reveal of The Witcher Sirens of the Deep trailer, Netflix has added another animated addition to The Witcher universe. At the heart of the latest animated film is the deep-seated conflict between humanity and the merfolk, giving fans new monsters and new adventures featuring our favorite fantasy curmudgeon.

South Korean animation studio Studio MIR returned to animate this feature, with storyboard artist Kang Hei Chul stepping into the role of director. The Witcher Sirens of the Deep is written by The Witcher series writers Mike Ostrowski and Rae Benjamin and produced by The Witcher showrunner Lauren Schmidt Hissrich. Author Sapkowski serves as the creative consultant.

Doug Cockle resumes the role of Geralt of Rivia once more in this latest film. Most surprisingly, The Witcher Sirens of the Deep features the return of some familiar voices from the live-action series. Anya Chalotra reprises the role of Yennefer of Vengerberg and Joey Batey reprises his role of Jaskier. A newcomer to the universe is Christina Wren, who voices Essi Daven.

The Witcher: Sirens of The Deep | Official Trailer | Netflix

Humans, monsters and merpeople collide in this dark animated fantasy. The Witcher: Sirens of The Deep, February 11 only on Netflix. Watch on Netflix: https://www.netflix.com/title/81484026 About Netflix: Netflix is one of the world’s leading entertainment services, with 283 million paid memberships in over 190 countries enjoying TV series, films and games across a wide variety of genres and languages.

What is The Witcher Sirens of the Deep about?

In The Witcher Sirens of the Deep, Geralt of Rivia, a mutated monster hunter, is hired to investigate a series of attacks in a seaside village and finds himself drawn into a centuries-old conflict between humans and merpeople. He must count on friends — old and new — to solve the mystery before the hostilities between the two kingdoms escalate into all-out war.

Within the teaser trailer itself, Geralt finds himself surrounded by smoke and darkness. And what he says next makes sense to the situation. “The humans aren’t looking for truth,” he says. “It’s no longer about sustenance. It’s about greed.” While smoke and darkness can hide the truth of the matter, sometimes people aren’t looking anyway.

The film takes place between Episodes 5 and 6 of The Witcher Season 1, so fans should probably re-watch the first season to refresh their memory.

The Witcher: Sirens of the Deep premieres exclusively on Netflix on February 11, 2025.
