EA and Hazelight Studios released a new trailer for Split Fiction highlighting the return of Hazelight’s signature feature, Friend’s Pass, which allows players to share in the explosive co-op experience with a friend for free with just one copy of the game.

No matter what platform you and your friends are playing on, you will be able to team up and experience Zoe and Mio’s story through Split Fiction, which naturally lends itself to a co-op adventure. Connect between PC and PlayStation 5, Xbox Series X|S… all combinations are possible!

With Split Fiction, Friend’s Pass is back and better than ever with a brand new crossplay function, allowing anyone to team up on different platforms including PC, PlayStation 5 and Xbox Series X|S. With all of that being said, players may have this question:

How do you use the Friend’s Pass?

Split Fiction | How to Invite a Friend for Free with the Friend’s Pass

Split Fiction is a split-screen adventure tailored for two! Experience boundary-pushing co-op gameplay where you’ll have to coordinate your actions and timing as well as work together to overcome challenges. Download Friend’s Pass* to play Split Fiction with a friend for free on any platform (crossplay on PlayStation®, Xbox, and PC)!

Getting someone to play with you can be done with these four simple steps:

Step 1. You own Split Fiction

Step 2. Friend installs Friend’s Pass on their chosen platform

Step 3. You send an invite to your friend, who then accepts the in-game invite

Step 4. Play The Entire Game Together

Even if neither you nor your co-op partner owns a copy of Split Fiction, you can both experience a Trial of the game for free using the Friend’s Pass! Once you both download and launch the Friend’s Pass version of the game, you will be able to invite each other to play the opening stages of the game together and then continue your progress if one of you purchases a full copy of Split Fiction!

Using the Friend’s Pass to play Split Fiction will require a free EA Account, so be sure to sign up here. Don’t have a friend to play with? Gamers in search of a co-op partner can use the “Looking for Player” channels on the Hazelight Discord server to set up game sessions with other players in the community.

More About Split Fiction

Embrace mind-blowing moments as you’re pulled deep into the many worlds of Split Fiction, a boundary-pushing co-op action adventure from the studio behind the 2021 Game of the Year Winner, It Takes Two.

Mio and Zoe are contrasting writers – one writes sci-fi, and the other writes fantasy – who become trapped in their own stories after being hooked up to a machine designed to steal their creative ideas. They’ll have to rely on each other to break free from their memories intact, working together to master a variety of abilities and overcome diverse challenges while jumping between sci-fi and fantasy worlds in this unexpected tale of friendship.

Split Fiction is a unique action-adventure experience that keeps you on the edge of your couch with unexpected moments. One minute, you’re taming adorable dragons, and the next, you’re fighting as cyber ninjas, escaping terrifying trolls, or dodging hover cars thrown by a robotic parking attendant. It’s weird, it’s wild, and it’s designed to be shared.

Grab your co-op partner and get ready to overcome any obstacle. Split Fiction will launch on March 6 for $49.99 on PlayStation 5, Xbox Series X|S, and PC via Steam, Epic Games Store, and the EA app.
